BEDFORD, NH – Republican U.S. Senate candidate Bryant “Corky” Messner says he supports a move to delay the federal tax filing deadline from April 15th to July 15th, in light of the Coronavirus guidelines and their impact on tax-paying Americans.

Kentucky Republican Senator Rand Paul made the proposal, which also asks that the I.R.S. waive any interest and fees for late payments to ease the financial challenges facing businesses and individuals as a result of the pandemic.

“This is exactly the forward-thinking we should expect from the U.S. Senate,” says Messner. “We need to recognize the implications of lockdowns, canceled events and other results of the Coronavirus precautions, and reassure all Americans that their government understands their impact and will put measures in place to safeguard our economy and our citizens.”
